This Shoe Boil Boot from Jacks helps relieve pressure at the horse’s elbow when a shoe boil develops. A shoe boil, sometimes called a capped elbow, is an unsightly inflammation of the horse’s leg, near the girth area, caused by his hoof pressing against the elbow while lying down. Once a shoe boil appears it’s important to prevent the hoof from making contact with it again, which could increase swelling and cause more problems down the road.

The Jacks Shoe Boil Boot is a lightweight reinforced foam ring that buckles around the pastern. It should be worn continuously except when the horse is ridden or being exercised. The donut boot has a web strap with buckle to secure it on the pastern area. Be careful when pulling the boot open when putting it on the horse’s leg or removing it. Pulling the ends of the boot apart forcefully can lead to cracks on the inside of the boot. A little care goes a long way!
