Shoe Boil Boot will help relieve pressure at the horse’s elbow when a shoe boil develops. A shoe boil is an unsightly inflammation of the horse’s elbow, near the girth area, caused by his hoof pressing against the area while lying down. Once a shoe boil appears it’s important to prevent the hoof from making contact with the elbow again, which could increase the swelling and cause more problems down the road.

A shoe boil boot is a lightweight reinforced foam donut that buckles around the pastern. It is designed to be worn continuously when the horse is not being ridden. The Shoe Boil Boot from Intrepid has a web strap with buckle to secure it on the pastern area. Use caution when pulling boot open to place on the horse’s leg. Pulling the ends of the boot apart forcefully can lead to cracks on the inside of the boot. A little care goes a long way!
